Semi Truck Stop Leads to 174 Guns and 368 Pounds of Suspected Heroin

A commercial vehicle stop on I-69 in Michigan turned into a major investigation after officers discovered 174 handguns and hundreds of pounds of suspected drugs inside a tractor-trailer.

Michigan State Police said a Motor Carrier Officer stopped the truck near Marshall on September 25. During the investigation, officers found 174 handguns with altered or removed serial numbers and approximately 368 pounds of suspected heroin.

The truck driver was taken into custody as investigators continued working to determine where the shipment came from and where it was headed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
