Indiana Troopers Find $3.8 Million in Cocaine During I-70 Truck Inspection

A commercial vehicle inspection on I-70 in Indiana ended with the seizure of 277 pounds of cocaine, according to Indiana State Police.

Troopers stopped an eastbound commercial vehicle in Putnam County on September 6. The driver, Harpreet Singh of Greenwood, Indiana, told police he was pulling an empty trailer from Memphis to Indianapolis.

Police said the vehicle was impounded after the trooper determined the driver was operating “below industry standards.” During the enforcement action, several duffel bags containing approximately 277 pounds of cocaine were discovered.

ISP estimated the drugs' street value at $3.8 million. Singh was taken into custody and booked into the Putnam County Jail.
