Tesla Opens Nevada Factory to Ramp Up Semi Truck Production

Tesla is making its biggest move yet to put more electric Class 8 trucks on U.S. roads, opening a dedicated high-volume Semi factory in Sparks, Nevada.

The new facility is designed to eventually produce up to 50,000 Semi trucks per year. Tesla has delivered Semis in limited numbers since 2022, but the Nevada factory is intended to dramatically increase production.

Tesla says the long-range Semi can travel an estimated 500 miles on a charge and recover up to 60% of its range in about 30 minutes using a Megacharger.

The factory opening marks a major step for a truck Tesla first unveiled in 2017 after years of delays between the original announcement and large-scale production.
