California Trucking Owner Admits $2.1 Million Fraud

On October 15, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that Hasan Korkmaz, owner of San Diego Logistics Group Inc., a trucking company in Santee, California, pleaded guilty to 18 federal charges.

According to prosecutors, Korkmaz used stolen personal information to open credit card accounts under other people's names in 2022 and 2023.

He then used those cards to make large transactions at various businesses, including his own trucking company.

Some individual transactions reached $18,500.

The scheme caused more than $2.1 million in losses to two banks and affected nearly 100 people.

Investigators also found that some of the money was transferred to bank accounts in Türkiye controlled by Korkmaz.

His sentencing is scheduled for January 8, 2027.

What This Means for CDL Drivers

This case shows how a legitimate trucking business can be used in financial fraud.

Truck drivers and owner-operators should protect their personal information and regularly check financial accounts for suspicious activity.
