Teton Pass Will Require Safety Certification for Large Vehicle Drivers
By CDLcrewEditorial standards

Drivers of certain large vehicles will soon need to complete a new safety certification before using Teton Pass on Wyoming Highway 22.
WYDOT says the WY22 SAFE PASS program will apply to RVs, vehicles towing trailers, and vehicles with a gross vehicle weight or rating over 10,000 pounds. Drivers will complete safety materials online and receive a certification letter valid for one year.
The program is expected to launch in October 2026. Once active, affected drivers without certification will be restricted from using Teton Pass. The existing 60,000-pound weight limit and other restrictions will remain in place.
