Semi-Truck Business Owner Indicted in $105 Million Investment Fraud Case

Federal prosecutors have charged the owner of a semi-truck business in an alleged investment scheme involving more than $105 million.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, hundreds of investors were offered semi-truck leases and told the company would handle purchasing trucks, hiring drivers, insurance and operations while investors earned passive income.
The indictment charges the 46-year-old business owner with six counts of wire fraud and two counts of money laundering. Prosecutors are seeking forfeiture of approximately $105.9 million.
The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
