The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission approved a 3.5% toll increase. Officials said this is the smallest annual increase since 2014.
The commission said the money will help pay transportation costs required under state law. It will not be used for new projects or daily operations.
Drivers who use E-ZPass will continue to pay much lower tolls than drivers using Toll By Plate. More than 85% of customers already use E-ZPass.
Drivers can check the cost of their trip by using the Pennsylvania Turnpike online toll calculator.
