Pennsylvania lawmakers are considering a bill that would let more local governments use speed cameras in areas with serious speeding or crash problems.
Before a city could install cameras, officials would have to show that the road has a history of crashes or dangerous speeding.
The proposal would also let more communities use red-light cameras at busy intersections. Supporters say the cameras could help reduce crashes and improve road safety.
Some driver groups do not support the plan. They believe more cameras could lead to more automatic tickets instead of better traffic enforcement.
The bill is still being discussed and has not become law.
