Landstar Revenue per Load Jumps 25%

By CDLCrewEditorial standards

Landstar is reporting stronger freight business.

On October 27, 2026, Landstar System announced its third-quarter financial results.

Truck transportation revenue increased 29% to $1.407 billion compared with the same quarter last year.

Average revenue per truckload increased about 25%, while the number of loads hauled grew approximately 3%.

Landstar also added a net 165 trucks operated by independent Business Capacity Owners (BCOs) during the quarter.

That was the company's strongest quarterly increase in BCO trucks since 2021.

However, insurance and accident-related costs also increased.

What This Means for CDL Drivers

For owner-operators, higher revenue per load is an encouraging sign.

But a 25% increase in Landstar's revenue per load does not mean drivers are taking home 25% more money.

Diesel, insurance, repairs, and other operating expenses still affect profits.
