Escaped Killer Caught in Missouri

The search is over!

Jacob Allen Morley, who escaped from a Tennessee prison while serving a life sentence for murder, was captured in Missouri on November 3, 2026.

Police tracked Morley using roadside license plate cameras and a helicopter.

Morley was driving a stolen truck when he turned onto a rural road in Carroll County, Missouri. The truck got stuck in the mud.

A state trooper arrested him without incident.

The Tennessee Department of Correction confirmed that Morley is back in custody.

What This Means for CDL Drivers

Police had previously asked truck drivers to check their dashcam footage near a Pilot truck stop in Marion, Illinois.

Morley has now been captured, so drivers no longer need to search for him.

The case shows how cameras along highways can help police track dangerous fugitives.
