Teton Pass Safe Pass Rules Are Now Being Enforced

Drivers of heavy vehicles can now face citations for using Wyoming’s Teton Pass without completing the new Safe Pass certification.
WYDOT began enforcement October 1 after uncovering new regulatory signs along Wyoming Highway 22. The requirement applies to RVs, vehicles towing trailers, and vehicles with a GVW, GVWR or GCWR of 10,000 pounds or more.
Drivers must complete the free online self-certification before using Teton Pass and be ready to show proof electronically or on paper. The certification is valid for one year.
Drivers who do not complete the certification must use an alternate route. The existing 60,000-pound weight restriction on Teton Pass also remains in effect.
