A new cross-border project aims to make long-distance electric and hydrogen trucking more practical along the West Coast.
California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Baja California are coordinating a freight corridor centered on I-5, with an initial plan for 20 electric truck charging sites and three hydrogen fueling stations. Nearly 10,000 trucks use the route on an average day.
Officials also plan to align technical standards and infrastructure requirements so zero-emission trucks can operate more easily between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
