Tesla Semi Enters Volume Production

Tesla is now building more electric trucks.

On October 21, 2026, Tesla confirmed that volume production of its Semi truck has started at its Nevada factory.

The company reported an installed manufacturing capacity of 25,000 Semi trucks per year.

That does not mean 25,000 trucks have already been built. Tesla did not report actual Semi production numbers.

According to Tesla, the long-range Semi can travel up to 500 miles at a gross combination weight of 82,000 pounds.

What This Means for CDL Drivers

Tesla is moving beyond small production runs of its electric Class 8 truck.

More electric trucks could eventually become available to trucking fleets. But large-scale deliveries and charging infrastructure will take time.
