New Detroit–Windsor Bridge Opens July 27

The Gordie Howe International Bridge connects Detroit, Michigan, with Windsor, Ontario. It is expected to help move traffic faster and reduce delays at the border.

The new bridge has six traffic lanes and direct highway connections on both sides of the border. Officials expect it to handle about 400 commercial trucks every hour.

The bridge is expected to reduce congestion at the Ambassador Bridge and make freight transportation between the United States and Canada more efficient.

Many trucking companies and drivers hope the new crossing will save time and improve cross-border deliveries.
