230 Arrested in 15-State CDL Crackdown
Federal agents arrested more than 230 people during a three-day operation targeting immigration and CDL violations across 15 states.
On November 2, 2026, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the results of Operation Guardian.
The operation took place from October 26 through October 28.
ICE worked with state and local police to identify people DHS described as being in the country illegally, including people holding unauthorized commercial driver's licenses.
According to DHS, more than 230 people were arrested, including over 40 CDL holders.
The operation covered Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas.
DHS announced the results at Melton Truck Lines headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Officials did not provide a state-by-state breakdown of the arrests or say how many CDL holders were driving trucks when arrested.
What This Means for CDL Drivers
Federal and state authorities are increasing attention on commercial driver's licenses and driver qualifications.
The operation targeted immigration and licensing violations, not all CDL drivers.
Truck drivers should make sure their licenses and required documents are valid.
