Maryland Freezes Toll Increases for 2027

On October 14, 2026, Maryland Governor Wes Moore announced that planned toll increases on state toll roads, bridges, and tunnels will be delayed for one year.

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) confirmed that toll rates will not increase in 2027. The planned increases are now expected to be postponed until 2028.

The decision is expected to save motorists at least $50 million.

The increases were originally planned to help offset revenue losses following the collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge.

What This Means for CDL Drivers

Truck drivers and owner-operators using Maryland toll facilities, including I-95, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and Baltimore tunnels, will avoid the planned 2027 toll increases.

Current toll rates remain in effect, helping carriers avoid additional operating costs next year.
