J.B. Hunt Reports 20% Revenue Growth as Trucking Costs Continue to Rise

J.B. Hunt reported stronger financial results for the third quarter of 2026. On October 15, the major U.S. trucking company announced revenue of $3.68 billion, up 20% from the same period last year.
Intermodal freight volumes increased 8%, while revenue in the company's Truckload division grew 37%.
However, J.B. Hunt also reported higher operating costs, including driver wages, diesel fuel, equipment, and insurance.
What This Means for CDL Drivers
Higher freight volumes at J.B. Hunt show stronger business activity for one of the country's largest carriers.
But revenue growth does not automatically mean higher driver pay. Rising fuel, insurance, and equipment expenses continue to affect trucking company profits.
For CDL drivers, the results provide a look at how a major carrier is performing, but they do not establish a broader recovery across the trucking industry.
