I-86 Truck Parking Restrictions Announced in New York

Truck drivers traveling eastbound on I-86 in New York should plan their rest stops ahead of temporary parking restrictions at the Friendship Rest Area in Allegany County.

New York State DOT announced that paving work will affect access to the rest area between October 9 and October 12. The facility is located between Exits 29 and 30 and normally provides 12 truck parking spaces.

On Friday, October 9, the rest area will be closed to commercial vehicles. On Saturday, October 10, parking will be limited for both trucks and passenger vehicles. On Monday, October 12, the facility will be closed to all vehicles.

The restrictions are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the affected dates. Work depends on weather conditions, and drivers should plan alternative parking locations.
