South Carolina Steps Up Truck Enforcement on Major Interstates

Truck drivers will see increased enforcement in South Carolina.

State Transport Police and partner agencies are conducting Operation Safe DRIVE from October 6 through October 8 on I-20, I-77 and I-85.

Officers will focus on traffic violations and dangerous or distracted driving around commercial vehicles. Commercial trucks may also be checked for compliance with federal safety regulations.

Operation Safe DRIVE stands for Distracted, Reckless, Impaired and Visibility Enforcement. The program is designed to reduce crashes involving commercial vehicles on high-crash corridors.
