Minnesota Diesel Price Hits New Record at $6.33 Per Gallon

Diesel in Minnesota reached a new record average of $6.3281 per gallon on September 21, according to AAA.

That is up from $6.0750 a week ago and $5.3362 a month ago. A year ago, Minnesota diesel averaged just $3.6091 per gallon.

MPR News reports that the increase is putting heavy pressure on trucking companies. One Minnesota carrier says filling 200–240 gallons now costs more than $1,200, while some carriers are reducing fleets, selling their businesses or leaving the industry.
