CDL School Closure Leaves Nonprofit and Four Students in Limbo

A Colorado nonprofit helping formerly incarcerated people start trucking careers says a recent federal CDL school shutdown has left four students without training and $15,000 in payments unresolved.

Fortified Academy had already paid Colorado Trucking College to train the students when the school was shut down as part of a federal crackdown on CDL training providers.

The nonprofit told Denver7 it has not received the money back and cannot afford to pay a second school for the same students. Fortified Academy is now working with officials to find another solution.
