$40,000 in Beef Stolen From Truck While Driver Slept

A cargo theft happened in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Police say three suspects broke into a parked tractor-trailer on Southampton Road in Northeast Philadelphia while the driver was sleeping inside the truck.

The suspects stole about five pallets of beef worth roughly $40,000. The driver woke up around 3:40 a.m. and interrupted the theft, but the suspects fled in three vehicles.

Philadelphia police say cargo thieves often target trucks that arrive before scheduled delivery times and remain parked overnight while drivers rest. No arrests have been reported.
