Iowa Temporarily Allows Dyed Diesel for Some Agricultural Trucks

Iowa has temporarily eased its dyed diesel rules.

A proclamation signed October 6 suspends state penalties for on-road use of dyed diesel by trucks transporting certain agricultural products. The temporary relief applies on public roads and highways across Iowa.

Covered loads include corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage, fertilizer, manure and distillers grains. Other commercial vehicle requirements remain in effect.

The proclamation took effect immediately and will remain in place for 120 days, through February 2, 2027, unless it is ended or extended earlier.
