Arkansas police inspected 1,724 commercial trucks and made 44 criminal arrests in just 48 hours.

The operation, called Highway Shield, ran from October 27 to October 29, 2026.

Arkansas Highway Police worked with FMCSA, DEA, Homeland Security, and ICE.

Officers reported:

  • 393 drivers and trucks placed out of service.
  • More than 1,000 trucking safety violations.
  • 183 English-language proficiency disqualifications.
  • More than 330 unqualified or unauthorized drivers identified.
  • 369 tickets and warnings.
  • One stolen trailer recovered.

Police also reported 74 immigration violations that led to federal enforcement.

What This Means for CDL Drivers

Police checked driver qualifications, paperwork, and truck safety at weigh stations and along highways.

For drivers, this is a reminder to keep CDL documents, logs, and equipment in order before hitting the road.

The special operation has ended, but normal roadside inspections continue.
