Florida Invests $53.8 Million to Expand Truck Parking on Turnpike

Florida is adding more places for truck drivers to park and rest.

The state is investing $53.8 million in truck parking improvements at the Turkey Lake and Ocoee service plazas on Florida’s Turnpike. The projects are expected to add approximately 150 truck parking spaces.

The improvements are part of a larger effort to modernize the Turnpike. Florida officials say expanding truck parking can improve safety and help drivers find legal places to stop while complying with hours-of-service requirements.

The investment is included in Florida’s broader Turnpike infrastructure program, which totals more than $20 billion.
