Rising Costs Hit Werner Profits
Werner Enterprises reported preliminary financial results for the third quarter of 2026.
The trucking company expects revenue between $946 million and $951 million, with adjusted earnings of $0.15 to $0.16 per share.
Werner said rising fuel prices, higher driver recruitment and retention expenses, and an insurance reserve adjustment reduced its financial performance.
Together, these additional costs had an estimated negative impact of $0.18 per share compared with the second quarter.
The company plans to release full financial results on October 27, 2026.
What This Means for CDL Drivers
Werner's results show how fuel, insurance, and driver-related expenses can affect even large trucking companies.
These costs may put pressure on carrier profits and operating decisions. Werner did not announce driver pay cuts in this report.
