ATA Names New President
On October 15, 2026, the American Trucking Associations (ATA) announced that Mark Colson will become its new president and CEO.
Colson has served as president and CEO of the Alabama Trucking Association since 2019. He brings more than 20 years of experience working with the trucking industry and government officials.
He will officially take office on December 1, 2026.
Colson has supported the Trucking Resurgence initiative, which focuses on improving trucking safety, strengthening enforcement, and addressing unfair competition from carriers that violate regulations.
What This Means for CDL Drivers
ATA represents the interests of trucking companies in discussions about federal transportation policies.
Its new leadership could influence future debates about CDL requirements, driver safety, regulatory enforcement, and trucking industry operations.
