Replacing a starter on a truck isn’t always a simple job

This one took about 3 hours. There isn’t much room to work, and getting to the mounting bolts and wiring can be difficult. You have to work in a tight space between the engine, frame, and other components.

At first it sounds simple: remove the old starter and install the new one. But on a diesel truck, getting access to the starter can sometimes take more time than the replacement itself.
