Indiana Inspections Put 589 Truck Drivers Out of Service in One Month

Indiana State Police completed 4,789 commercial vehicle inspections between August 15 and September 15.

The inspections resulted in 589 drivers and 683 commercial vehicles being placed out of service. Officers recorded 9,441 violations during the month.

The results included 1,051 speeding violations, 267 overweight violations and 50 violations of the federal requirement for commercial drivers to read and speak English.

Indiana officers also conducted enforcement operations targeting trucks bypassing weigh stations on I-70 and I-74.
