78 Truck Drivers Put Out of Service in Four-State Crackdown

A four-state overnight crackdown took 78 truck drivers off the road.
FMCSA, federal authorities and state law enforcement conducted 552 commercial vehicle inspections during Operation Saturday Night Fever. The enforcement effort covered Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
Inspectors placed 78 drivers and 25 commercial vehicles out of service. Twelve drivers were cited for English Language Proficiency violations. Authorities also reported seven criminal arrests and 11 immigration-related detentions.
The operation focused on driver qualifications, fatigue, ELD compliance, vehicle condition, cargo securement, distracted and impaired driving, and other safety violations.
