New York Troopers Issue 376 Tickets in Taconic Parkway Crackdown

New York State Police issued 376 traffic tickets during a two-day commercial vehicle enforcement operation on the Taconic State Parkway.

The operation took place September 30 and October 1 across Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Columbia counties. Of the tickets, 198 were issued to restricted vehicle types prohibited from using the parkway.

Troopers also conducted 19 commercial vehicle inspections and found 63 FMCSA violations. Four drivers and five vehicles were placed out of service.

Commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, are prohibited from using the Taconic State Parkway. Police are reminding drivers to check parkway restrictions before choosing a route.
