National Cargo Theft Blitz Recovers $635,000 in Stolen Freight

A nationwide cargo theft crackdown recovered about $635,000 in freight.

The 24-hour National Supply Chain Blitz brought together law enforcement agencies and cargo-security teams across multiple states on September 23 and 24. The operation focused on organized theft targeting trucks, warehouses and the freight supply chain.

The largest recovery involved 30 stolen transformers valued at approximately $600,000 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Investigators said the shipment involved an impersonated company and fraudulent shipping documents.

Authorities also made arrests during the operation, although a final nationwide arrest total had not been released when the initial results were reported.
