I-10 Traffic Shift in Beaumont, Texas, to Last About Two Years

Truck drivers traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 through Beaumont, Texas, should prepare for a major traffic pattern change beginning Friday, October 9, at 8 p.m.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), eastbound traffic between Washington Boulevard and the I-10/US-69 split will shift to the left as construction continues on the interchange. During the transition, eastbound I-10 and northbound US-69 may be reduced to one lane at various times.
The direct connector to US-69 North will close Saturday, October 10, from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Drivers will be directed through a turnaround at Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway to reach westbound I-10 and then US-69 North.
All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, October 12, but the new eastbound traffic pattern will remain in place for approximately 24 months. Westbound I-10 will not be affected by this traffic shift. Construction schedules are subject to weather and other changes.
