260 Pounds of Meth Found in Truck
A man who drove a tractor-trailer loaded with methamphetamine from Texas to New Jersey has pleaded guilty.
On October 27, 2026, federal prosecutors announced that Carlos H. Cordero-Gutierrez, 54, admitted his role in a drug distribution conspiracy.
Investigators say he picked up the drugs in Texas and drove to New Jersey, arriving April 28.
Police found more than 260 pounds of methamphetamine inside the truck cab, hidden in boxes and bags.
Prosecutors call it the largest methamphetamine seizure in New Jersey history.
Cordero-Gutierrez faces at least 10 years in prison and could receive a life sentence. His sentencing is scheduled for March 23, 2027.
