FMCSA Revokes 15 ELDs and Orders Fleets to Replace Them

FMCSA has removed 15 electronic logging devices from its approved list after finding that they failed to meet federal requirements.

Ten ELDs were revoked in July, followed by five more on August 6. Drivers using the affected devices must switch to paper logs or other approved logging methods and replace the equipment before the applicable deadlines.

The July devices must be replaced by September 8, while the five August devices must be replaced by October 6. After those dates, drivers still using revoked ELDs could be cited and placed out of service.
