California to Close I-5 at Night for Several Weeks Near Sacramento

Caltrans announced nighttime closures of Interstate 5 in Yolo County, near Sacramento, from October 11 through November 20 for pavement replacement work at the Yolo Bypass.

Northbound I-5 will be fully closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. between October 11 and October 31. Southbound closures are scheduled for the same hours from November 1 through November 20.

Truck drivers are advised to use State Route 113 (SR-113) and Interstate 80 (I-80) as alternate routes. The County Road 22 detour is intended for local traffic only. Drivers should expect delays and longer travel times.

The speed limit in the construction zone will be reduced to 55 mph, with California Highway Patrol officers monitoring traffic. Closure schedules may change depending on weather and construction conditions.
