Dry Fifth Wheel on a Semi-Truck

This fifth wheel is almost dry. There is very little grease left on the surface.
The fifth wheel connects the truck to the trailer and allows the trailer to turn smoothly. Without enough grease, metal surfaces rub against each other, creating friction and extra wear.
Over time, this can damage the fifth wheel and the trailer's upper coupler plate, leading to expensive repairs.
Regular fifth wheel inspection and lubrication are important parts of semi-truck maintenance.
A little grease today can save a lot of money tomorrow.
